P&C Associations are governed by the Constitution of the Association (PDF, 487KB) and work in collaboration and consultation with the Principal to grow and support the school community.

In 2018, the P&C Association are very actively focusing on fundraising through school events and stalls. Systems were investigated so as to promote volunteering and engaging the community in supporting the school.

The P&C raised funds to support student engagement in anti-bullying programs such as Brainstorm Productions and Circus Challenge; Healthy Programs such as Life Education and construction of shade shelters in the Junior School. Grant writing also features in 2018.

The P&C Fundraising for 2018 is funding the air-conditioning/Solar panels project.

The Constitution of the Association outlines the Roles and Functions of the Executive Committee in Section 13.  A P&C Association has an Executive Committee that is comprised of the following Officers of the Association:  the President; the Vice-President or Vice-Presidents; the Secretary; the Treasurer.

What are the 'key functions' of the Association officers?

The President.

Provides leadership and is the accountable officer of the Association. Their role is to act as a representative of the Association, encourage communication between the Association, School administration and the community and encourage participation in the Association. The President will be the Chair of meetings and conduct them in an efficient and timely fashion, being familiar with the rules, constitution and other documents governing Association operations. The President is an official member of the school council for the School, if one exists.

The Vice-President.

Provides essential support for the President and possibly other members of the Executive Committee. They will Chair those meetings from which the President is absent and carry out any duties that have been delegated by the President. They should also be familiar with the rules, constitution and other documents governing Association operations.

The Secretary.

Collates the agenda papers for each meeting, (including subcommittee reports) and assists the President in preparing an agenda for each meeting. They prepare and present minutes of the Association‘s meetings, record and deal with correspondence in/out as directed and generally organise, record and maintain information pertaining to the activities of the Association.

The Treasurer.

Has the overall responsibility for the financial management of the Association, including all subcommittee accounts. In their role they must comply with the Accounting Manual for P&C Associations in all respects. They prepare an annual budget and Annual Operational Plan for the Association in consultation with the Association’s Executive Committee. It is the Treasurer's responsibility to keep accurate accounts of receipts and expenditure.

Any Parent or Carer of the school who is interested in an Executive Officer position can come in and introduce themselves to the Principal to discuss the position and how to work together to build a strong school community.

General Meeting are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm.

We hope to meet many of you at the P&C Meetings during the year and look forward to working together in 2018 to build our school community.

The Application for Membership 2017/2018 (including the Code of Conduct) (PDF, 222KB) is available for you to download, complete and submit at the Annual General Meeting. A hard copy is also available at the school office.
