Enrolling your child in Prep for 2024
2024 Prep Enrolments
At Humpybong, we take enrolments for up to 5 Prep classes for the following year. We have an enrolment catchment area, but do take enrolments for consideration from outside this area. Click to view our 2023 Prep Enrolment Flyer, or book a School Tour for more information.
To complete an enrolment, please contact the school office to submit an enrolment form. You will need:
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of residential address
To provide information about enrolment in Prep for 2024, we hold a number of events:
- Parent Information Sessions (June - TBA)
- Prep Open Morning (July - TBA)
- Early Years Celebration (August (TBA) – open to all 2024 Prep enrolments to attend with our current Prep/Year 1 classes)
- Transition morning (December)
- School tours (Weekly – see the School Tours information for booking)
We also run Step Up transition programs during Terms 3 and 4, one morning a week, by invitation only.
How to enrol your child for Prep 2024
Step 1: View the Department's online calculator to determine when your child can commence their preparatory year. To be eligible for Prep 2024 children must be born between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019.
Step 2: Collect an enrolment pack from the school office to complete prior to any interviews.
Step 3: Book an
interview online, or contact the school on 3385 1666. You may also email info@humpybongss.eq.edu.au to organise an interview for your child.
Step 4: Attend the interview at the school with your child or children. Bring along the completed Enrolment Package, a copy of a birth certificate for your child, parent photo identification, and any other information may think is relevant e.g. Early Learning Centre Transition Statements or medical reports.
Early Entry Consideration is available to children born in July 2019. Their entry into Prep is not automatic or guaranteed. Consideration is given to your child's attributes including ability, aptitude, social and emotional competence, physical development and level of knowledge and understanding.
An additional Application Form - Early Entry to Prep - needs to be completed and submitted with your Enrolment Paperwork. Hard copies are available from the Prep Deputy Principal.
