Have you filled a bucket lately?

During our second week back at school all classes  shared the picture book 'Have You Filled a Bucket Today? ' by Carol McCloud. In the book it explains that everybody in the world has an invisible bucket. We can't see it but it is there. This bucket carries all our good thoughts and feelings. When the bucket is full we feel happy and when it is empty we feel sad. At Humpybong we will be using this language everyday to encourage students to treat one another with care and respect. When they are kind to somebody else it fills a bucket. The really great thing about bucket filling is that when you fill someone else's bucket you fill your own bucket too. It's easy to feel happy when we make someone else happy. We encourage you to discuss the bucket idea with your child and remind them each and every day that it is important to fill someone else's bucket because it makes them feel good too.
